Castlebay

This is music of shimmering beauty that stirs the heart gently but passionately.

Ellsworth American

With their first, self-titled album in 1987, Castlebay's performances of traditional British Isles and sea music featured exciting 4-part harmonies supported by guitars, piano and tin whistle. Becoming a trio in 1989, the group added Celtic harp, viola, violin, cello and other keyboards as they explored new instrumental textures.

As a duo, Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee continue with undiminished energy. They blend original and traditional music of Maine with Celtic undertones reflecting an Old World legacy.
